Hammett Associates are accountants in Exeter and Seaton predominantly serving Devon and the South West, but with clients throughout the UK.
They provide exceptional accounts preparation, taxation, audit and advisory services geared towards owner-managed businesses, SMEs and individuals.
The practice is part of the next generation of accountancy firms, run by business people for business people. A senior IT Champion engineer managed the entire onboarding process by working closely with the practice to ensure a smooth handover from their previous IT Partner.
Following a detailed consultation period, IT Champion were selected by Hammett Associates to provide IT support to the practice. Parts of this project were carried out outside of business hours to minimize downtime for Hammett Associates. The project was a great success and was delivered on time and to budget.
The practice had 2 old physical servers running 3 Virtual Machines. IT Champion replaced both of the existing servers with a single server capable of running all 3 Virtual Machines. Two of the three Virtual Machines were re-provisioned and the other was live migrated as it did not need rebuilding because it was running a newer version of Windows Server. IT Champion migrated all server rolls and data across to the new Virtual Machines. The practice’s main business application (CCH) was migrated to a new Virtual Machine.
Once the server deployment was completed a new Windows 10 PC image with all the required desktop software installed was created for testing. Hammett Associates then signed off the PC image and it was used to rapidly build new Windows 10 PCs to replace all Windows 7 PCs.
