For many years, hosted desktops often referred to as virtual desktops, have been popular in the UK for organisations that are heavy users of traditional server-based applications such as accounts practices or legal firms.

Hosted desktop infrastructure is a traditional solution for providing a virtual desktop containing all the data and applications that an organisation needs from virtually any machine and from any location with an internet connection.
